WishCare raises Rs20 crore in funding round led by Unilever Ventures

THE WHAT? WishCare has raised Rs20 crore in a funding round led by Unilever Ventures. The FMCG giant’s venture capital arm has been steadily building its Indian beauty and wellness portfolio with investments in Plum, Minimalist, Curefit and What’s Up Wellness.

THE DETAILS According to a report published by the Economic Times, WishCare’s annual revenue stands at Rs85 crore and it has grown fourfold over the past year. Pawan Chaturvedi, Partner at Unilever Ventures, told the Economic Times, “We are delighted to have WishCare as an addition to our fast-growing beauty and wellness portfolio in India. WishCare has built a suite of evidence-based products that have shown rapid growth and we’re looking forward to supporting the founders to build a long-lasting brand.”

THE WHY? WishCare said in a statement, per the Economic Times, “The company aims to channel these finds towards amplifying research and development capabilities and focusing on formulating high-efficacy products fortified with clinically tested ingredients.”
