FDA grants cosmetics industry six-month grace period to comply with MoCRA

THE WHAT? The US Food & Drugs Administration (FDA) has issued guidance on its intent to delay enforcement of the requirements for cosmetics product facility registration and cosmetic product listing contained in the Modernization of Cosmetics Regulation Act, 2022 (MoCRA) by six months.

THE DETAILS MoCRA provided new authorities to the FDA including facility registration for cosmetic product manufacturers and processors and product listing, although certain small businesses are exempt.

THE WHY? The grace period will ensure the industry has sufficient time to submit their facility registration and product listing information.
